Privacy Policy
Last updated: May 19, 2026
This Privacy Policy explains how Splat Pop ("we", "us", "our") handles information when you use the Splat Pop mobile game and the splatpop.com website. Splat Pop is currently operated by Nice Notions LLC while the new launch is prepared.
Information we collect
Account information (optional)
If you choose to sign in with Apple, we receive the name and email address you provide during sign-in. Apple lets you hide your real email and share a relay address instead. Signing in is entirely optional — the game works fully without an account.
Gameplay and progress data
We store your game progress (scores, levels completed, stars earned, unlocked palettes) locally on your device. If you sign in, this data is synced to our cloud servers so you can restore it on a new device.
User-created content
Splat Pop lets you capture artwork from your gameplay. If you are signed in, captured artwork images are stored in our cloud infrastructure and associated with your account so you can access your gallery across devices.
Approximate location (optional)
If you have previously granted location permission, we use your approximate latitude and longitude to fetch local weather conditions from Open-Meteo (a third-party weather API) to display weather-themed visual effects in gameplay. We never prompt for location permission proactively — we only use it if already granted. The game works fully without location access.
Device and advertising identifiers
We collect device identifiers and, with your consent on iOS, the Advertising Identifier (IDFA) for analytics, ad delivery, and ad personalization. On iOS 14.5+, you are asked for permission via the App Tracking Transparency prompt before any tracking occurs.
Usage and analytics data
We collect gameplay interaction events (such as levels started, scores achieved, features used, screens viewed, and ad impressions) to understand how the app is used and to improve the experience.
Purchase information
If you make an in-app purchase (such as the one-time ad-free upgrade), purchase records including product identifiers and transaction status are processed by Apple. We do not collect or store payment card details.
Diagnostics
We collect crash reports and performance data to monitor app stability and fix issues.
How we use information
- To provide, maintain, and improve gameplay features and cloud sync.
- To display weather-aligned visual effects when location permission is granted.
- To process and restore in-app purchases.
- To measure app stability, performance, and usage patterns.
- To deliver advertising and, where you have consented, to personalize ads.
Third-party services
We use the following categories of third-party service providers that may process data on our behalf:
- Firebase (Google) — authentication, cloud database, cloud storage, and analytics.
- AdMob (Google) — advertising delivery and ad personalization.
- Open-Meteo — weather data (receives approximate coordinates only, no account or identifiers).
- Apple — Sign in with Apple authentication and App Store purchase processing.
Data sharing and tracking
We share device identifiers and related technical information with advertising partners (AdMob) to deliver and measure ads. Under applicable privacy laws, this may be considered "sharing" or "selling" of personal information for targeted advertising purposes.
We do not sell personal information such as your name, email, or gameplay data to data brokers or other third parties.
Your choices
- Sign-in: You can use Splat Pop without creating an account. Sign in with Apple is optional.
- Location: You can deny or revoke location permission in your device settings. The game works fully without it.
- Ad tracking: On iOS, you can deny tracking via the App Tracking Transparency prompt. You can also reset your Advertising Identifier or enable Limit Ad Tracking in your device settings.
- Purchases: You can purchase eligible upgrades or powerup packs through Apple in-app purchase.
- Data deletion: To request deletion of your account data (including cloud-synced progress and artwork), contact us at the email below. We will delete your data within 30 days.
- Uninstall: You can uninstall the app at any time, which removes all locally stored data.
Children's privacy
Splat Pop is not directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided personal information, contact us and we will take steps to delete that information.
Data retention
We retain your data for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide the service. If you request account deletion, we will delete your personal data within 30 days, except where retention is required by law. Anonymized analytics data may be retained indefinitely.
Data security
We use industry-standard security measures including encryption in transit (TLS/SSL) and secure cloud infrastructure. However, no method of electronic transmission or storage is 100% secure.
International transfers
Your information may be processed in the United States and other countries where our service providers operate. By using Splat Pop, you consent to the transfer of your information to these countries, subject to appropriate safeguards where required by law.
Changes to this policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of material changes by updating the "Last updated" date at the top of this page. Continued use of Splat Pop after changes constitutes acceptance of the revised policy.
